Your Cover

What's covered, and when

Cover begins the moment your first premium is paid — but the type of cover determines how soon a claim can be honoured. Here's how it builds over time.

Day 1
Accidental Death
Covered immediately once the first premium is paid and the policy is active.
6 mo
Natural Death
A six-month waiting period applies to all natural causes of death.
12 mo
Suicide Clause
Covered only after twelve months of continuous premium payments.
Day 1
Accidental Death
Covered immediately once the first premium is paid and the policy is active. Includes motor vehicle accidents, workplace accidents, fire-related incidents, and other unforeseen accidental events.
6 mo
Natural Death
A six-month waiting period applies to all natural causes of death. No funeral service is provided for a natural death within this period.
12 mo
Suicide Clause
Covered only after twelve months of continuous, uninterrupted premium payments.
Accidental death cover applies immediately — provided the first monthly premium has been successfully paid and the policy is active at the time of death. Gqomfa Funeral Directors reserves the right to request supporting documents or official reports for accidental death claims.
Policy Premiums

Find your monthly premium

Choose a policy type and an age range to see the monthly premium. A once-off non-refundable joining fee applies on registration — R100 for a Single Member, R100 for Extended Family as well.Memebership will become active once joining fee and first monthly premium is recieved.

Monthly premium must be paid on or before the agreed payment date each month. Failure to pay may result in suspension of cancelllation of cover.

Failure to pay premiums for two consecutive months will result in the automatic policy lapse and forfeiture of all benefits.

Important Notice — A 6-month waiting period applies from the reciept of the first premium. No funeral benefits may be claimed during this period.
Immediate cover for accidental death.
Memebers qualify for a funeral cover from as little as R10 000 - which is not paid in cash and may only be used for funeral services by Gqomfa Funeral Directors.

At Claim Time

Documents we'll ask for

Certified copies of the following may be required to process a claim.

Valid South African ID of the deceased

Valid South African ID of the main member

Official death certificate

Burial order

Proof of relationship, where applicable

Any additional documents requested by management

What your cover includes

Funeral arrangements and burial services for the main member are conducted directly by Gqomfa Funeral Directors according to the selected policy — no cash payout is made. This applies in every case, including accidental or suicidal death.

    Any request beyond the policy's cover amount is arranged separately, and must be agreed with us before the service. This can include:

    • Obituary Audio
